  • “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

I am a dedicated photographer with a mothering spirit who wants to capture your loved ones the same way I want mine remembered. I strive to find beauty in little details and to discover the uniqueness of those special to you.

My goal is to stop time, to capture today for tomorrow. I want you to feel like you could lift your child out of the photo, hear their laughter, remember being there snuggling them. I love eyes and eyelashes, I love chubby babies, I love siblings giggling, I love the tender love of a mother and the joy of a father tossing his child in the air. These are the things I am passionate about capturing.

Thank you for your interest in my work. I look forward to working with you.

William and Lauren and their wonderful parents | Kansas City Family Photographer

This is a family that is dear to my heart. I have been photographing them since William was just a tiny one himself and it has been wonderful to watch him grow through the years. Everytime they call I get so excited to see them. And, we greet each other as family with big hugs and smiles. Thank you for the honor of documenting your family all of these years. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! And, yes, there are many, many more!

Always smiling and so much fun to talk to…

Sweet girl just loved to clap…

So, these made me a little nervous as I was anticipating a possible nose dive…but they both held on tight and I love them..

I want pics of me and my kids like this one…but how to do it with 3?

Sweet snuggles…

Full gallery up soon! Enjoy!

Family love | Kansas City Family Photographer

I have been thinking about kids and photos lately. Especially as I am digging out of the hole of photos of my own 3 from the past year (gulp…years!) I am really enjoying going through these little gems (many that I forgot that I had taken) and loving the perfection of even the imperfect ones. I have come to realize that I love being an observer, of letting my kids be themselves, to play, be quirky, to be thoughtful and for me to capture those true magic moments of them being them.

I approached this family session in the same way. I told Mom ahead of time that I wanted to see them playing (and to tell dad the same.) I wanted just to observe them, to capture their love and spirit, and their kids being themselves. Mom wanted the same and I think together we achieved it.

The first pictures always start this way…everyone lined up, smiling as they have been told…

Then we move on to some fun…I think here I was talking about how his friend tried to chop my arm off with his light saber.

Some snuggled up time just enjoying each other…

For some reason, I really love this one…

If you are a Kansas Citian, you probably know this tree in Loose Park. The awesome tree climbing tree. It is special to this family as a place that dates were held at years ago, engagement photos and now family play time…

I love a dancing, spinning girl…

A rare photo of the two of them together…the thing you can’t see is that their legs are wrapped in children…

So, this is the story that I felt priveledged to capture. Of love, laughter, playfulness…a glimpse into their lives this one evening. Not just what everyone looked like but rather what it felt like to be a part of their loving family.

Hello dear friends! It has been a long, long time since I have updated this little blog of mine. Some have been asking where I have been and I want to assure you that I am still here and still photographing away!

I have been busy these days with my own 3 little lovies. They are growing, growing with Isabella in 1st grade, Emma in Kindergarten and Will just turning 3. Yes, my baby is 3! We have been busy around here at our house taking care of some extra kiddies during the daytime hours and sending Dad off to Nursing school full time. I can’t resist to post a few of our recents to show you just how big they are..

A little playtime in the girls room with their matching Christmas jammies…

And, Mr. Will who is cute as can be (even after losing his curls) and is now the big 3 but claims he is 4. Isn’t he cute sitting in the time out spot?

I had a very busy Fall meeting lots of families, babies and seniors. Now that things have slowed down a bit I thought I would come back and revisit some favorites from my Fall sessions. And, of course throw in some sneak peeks from current sessions. I cannot even express how much I love what I do. And, I hope that it shows through my images.

This family session was unbelievably fun. They are full of so much love and joy that it was easy to capture. It makes me smile just looking at them…

I have some exciting things planned for 2011! More to come (sooner than later!)
